August 9th: new GPU server nvidia4 introduced

Augmenting our GPU computing resources is nvidia4, a large state-of-the-art GPU server fitted with eight nVidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti GPUs, 1.5 terabytes of memory and 24 terabytes of local on-server storage. Although this server was installed in the third week of May, teething problems with machine stability under load, which were exacerbated by my not being on-site all the time owing to the College closure, meant it could not be made generally available to all until these issues were ironed out. With no further problems occurring over the past month, we are happy to formally announce this new server. More information
