July update:

We are still pretty much operating in a maintenance mode with improvements to the Huxley 616 internal power distribution ongoing but a few new initiatives have emerged in recent weeks:

  • extensive updates to the Stats MSc compute servers: more R libraries have been added to the apollo & artemis compute servers, apollo additionally has the alternative Anaconda3 Python distribution installed along with the Spyder 5 graphical IDE and is also running a R Studio server, accessible from anywhere using a browser

  • CUDA and cuDNN upgraded on nvidia4 GPU server: CUDA has been upgraded to the latest version 11.2 on nvidia4 and cuDNN has also been updated to version 8.1.1.33

  • on-server storage upgrade for the Keaveny cluster completed: the gehrig.ma compute server now has a fast 5 disk XFS-based pool to increase the available local storage to nearly 8 TB
